For someone with no previous connections to the surveying profession, Steve Holland has certainly learned his craft. It was a quick whispered conversation with a classmate that led to him choosing ‘Estate Management’ in a careers lesson to escape detention. But more than 30 years later, it was clearly the perfect career choice for him, offering the challenge and fulfilment he was seeking.
Steve regularly accepts expert witness appointments in respect of a variety of properties for the purposes of arbitration or independent expert referral and for court proceedings, addressing rent reviews, lease renewals and asset valuation disputes.
With over two decades of experience in commercial property surveying, Steve provides advice and assistance on all aspects of professional services including valuation, rent review, lease renewal, dilapidations, acquisition, disposal and general consultancy.
Based in Nottingham, Steve works with clients across the East Midlands and nationally. He has developed a range of valued, loyal clients including private investors and developers, insolvency practitioners, private estates, commercial and retail occupiers, banks and local authorities.
Steve has been an RICS Registered Valuer since the scheme’s inception, regularly valuing for a range of lenders from high street banks to private institutions.
Outside work, Steve is either a petrol head or a car bore, depending on your perspective, and has driven the Nürburgring as well as been to Le Mans 15 times. He enjoys outdoor adventures, but these days he’s swapped winter climbing in Scotland for taking his children camping and walking. And his hero? Sir Ranulph Fiennes, for his sheer determination and refusal to take no for an answer.
